Recorded at home

DeWayne forgot to hit record during Thursday's call, so he re-taught this one from home. The topic is fear, and it fit his own season. His family was climbing back after some hard years, and part of him kept waiting for something to knock them down.

Job's crack in the armor

Job lost almost everything and still refused to curse God. But in chapter 3 he admits, "What I always feared has happened to me." He had started guarding his blessings as if they were his, and fear found a way in. 2 Timothy 1:7 is the answer: God gives power, love, and self-control, not fear.

The three thank Gods

DeWayne shared a simple way to renew your mind. When something goes wrong, like a flat tire on the way to an interview, stop before you complain and name three things to thank God for. I have a spare. My phone is charged. I have a jack. Do that enough and gratitude starts replacing dread.

Try this

  • Use the three thank Gods the next time your day goes sideways.
  • Memorize 2 Timothy 1:7.
